UIW Mission

Position Summary
The 3D Animation & Game Design (ANGD) Program in the School of Media and Design seeks a part-time faculty 3D Animation & Game Design Lecturer to teach Senior Portfolio in the areas of Animation or Production Management. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW mission. Official duties and responsibilities of faculty members at the University include teaching, scholarship, service, and professional activities as assigned.

Essential Functions
Basic Instructional Duties:
  1. Prepare course outlines based on approved departmental syllabi.
  2. Deliver synchronous online instruction to students via MS Teams.
  3. Prepare timely and meaningful assessments for assigned courses.
  4. Work collaboratively with departmental faculty to ensure standard curriculum outcomes are met.
  5. Adhere to UIW policies and procedures, including timely record keeping of student activities, fair and equitable evaluation of student performance, and timely feedback to students regarding their performance in the course.
  6. Be available outside of class to help students learn and to answer their questions (1 hour per 3-hour class, physically and/or electronically.)
  7. Conduct respectful relationships with faculty, staff, and students both in and outside the classroom.
  8. Maintain contact with the department chair and participate in meetings upon request.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Duties

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work with the director of the 3D Animation & Game Design program to develop and delivery instruction on industry-standard skills in the fields of Animation or Production Management;
  • Knowledge of game and film development industry norms and pipelines;
  • Ability to effectively learn and use instructional technology;
  • Ability to incorporate technology into teaching;
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education
BFA or BS in Game Design, Game Programming, Computer Science, Game Production, Animation, Production, Film, or Production.

Required Work Experience
Significant experience in the film or game development industry.

Preferred Qualifications
Both teaching and industry experience.

Work Hours
Based on course assignment.

Physical Demands
Typical for faculty in this discipline.
