Assistant Director of Admissions Processing

UIW Mission


Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Admissions Processing is primarily responsible for the coordination of processing and computer systems areas within the Admissions Office. This position is a key functional/technical super-user that serves the UIW community in a collaborative system of understanding student information systems and participates in project testing, reporting, system training, and troubleshooting as well as resolution determination for said community. The Assistant Director of Admissions Processing reports to the Director of Admissions and Parent and Family Engagement.

Job Duties


Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in Ellucian Banner or related system and CRM management systems (such as Microsoft Dynamics). Familiarity with database systems and concepts.
  • Advanced skills in using software such as Microsoft Office for report writing in Word, developing content in PowerPoint, and using Excel for basic data manipulation and reporting to meet business objectives.
  • Ability to effectively work under stress and meet deadlines independently with minimal supervision.
  • Skills in organization, prioritization, and coordination.
  • Skills in analysis, problem-solving, and project management.
  • Ability to debug scripts by analyzing errors, testing solutions, and implementing changes.
  • Ability to use vendor support lines, knowledge-base, and technical documentation to assist in delivering resolutions to systems problems.
  • Ability and professional flexibility to adapt to changing requirements, new features, regulations, and other external changes to the admissions environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication with constituencies.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.


Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree.



Required Work Experience
  • Two (2) years of professional experience working with higher education software such as student information systems, education focused customer relationship management (CRM), and related support software packages.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience in a professional office setting.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Three (3) years of experience working with higher education software such as student information systems, education focused customer relationship management (CRM), and related support software packages.
  • Three (3) years of experience working in admissions operations.
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience in a professional office setting.


Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
None specified.

Work Hours
Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5pm. Some evenings and weekends required. Occasional conference travel may be required.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to carry, lift, and move up to 10 lbs of computer related equipment.
  • Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat to retrieve and or set-up computer related equipment.
