Description

We have a rapidly growing and strong Orthopedics Department in both the academic and community settings. Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and LSU Health Sciences Center – Shreveport seek a Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to add to the team. Must be eligible for active Louisiana licensure and BC/BE. This position would be for an Assistant or Associate Position.

Highlights of the Position:

  • Level I Trauma Center with more than 3,300 patients per year
  • 1,441 ortho trauma cases
  • 14 Faculty Members (Spine, Trauma, Sports Medicine, Hand, General), 20 Residents, 12 APPs
  • Programs include working with Shriners Hospital for Children & Overton Brooks Veteran Administration Medical Center
  • High existing volumes
  • Collegial and multidisciplinary team of physicians and nurses to collaborate on a customized plan of care for each patient.

This position:

  • Combines teaching and patient care
  • Emphasizes teaching and provides vitally important leadership and guidance to medical students and residents

Shreveport is in the northwest corner of Louisiana, 15 miles from Texas, and 185 miles directly east of Dallas on Interstate 20. Shreveport and its sister city across the Red River (Bossier City) have a population of just over 250,000. City amenities include a full-time symphony orchestra, minor league sports, riverfront aquarium, the American Rose Center, a full calendar of riverfront arts and music festivals, and much more. We enjoy the ambience of a smaller city and the resources of many larger metropolitan areas. Qualifications

The applicant must meet one of the following:

  • Fellowship-trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon
  • Must be eligible for active Louisiana licensure and BC/BE

Salary Range: Competitive and commensurate with experience
