Position Summary
The Assistant/Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management is responsible for providing overall leadership and oversight of student support programs to enhance the educational experience at the University of Incarnate Word's School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM). Program oversight includes the areas of student affairs, student support, student recruitment, admissions, financial aid, record maintenance, enrollment, and alumni relations. The Assistant/ Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management reports to the Dean, School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Credentials of finalist will determine final title.

Required Education
EdD, PhD.



Required Work Experience
  • Ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience in admissions, enrollment, or student affairs in higher education.
  • Five (5) years of experience in the supervision of professional level employees.
  • Experience with accreditation.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an osteopathic or allopathic medical school.
  • Experience with the transition to graduate medical education training.
  • Experience with COCA accreditation standards and processes.
  • Experience identifying and ensuring advocacy for at-risk students.


Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Must have a valid driver license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.

Work Hours
Typical office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with extended hours as needed, especially during peak periods and the planning and execution of events, to meet departmental goals. This will include some evenings and weekends.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to actively engage in events for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to regularly move about campus and event venues to actively engage faculty/staff/ students (potential/current)/guests, as well as attend meetings on and off campus.
  • Ability to navigate airports, as necessary for required travel.
