Maintenance Duties
  • Follows blueprints, manuals, and other written or verbal instructions.
  • Uses tools, equipment, machinery, or instruments appropriate to the task to install, inspect, assemble, troubleshoot, repair, adjust, calibrate, construct, and maintain equipment, parts and facilities
  • Operates company vehicles
  • Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of work area

  • Documents activities

  • Performs tests

  • Makes plans for carrying out work

  • Performs other duties as assigned




Education & Experience

Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience and  certifications required for the job
  • Preferred: Experience and/or training related to pharmaceutical or similar equipment, facilities, and documentation
  • Appropriate college degree

Proficiency in a body of information required for the job    

e.g. knowledge of FDA regulations, GMP/GLP/GCP, Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma, etc.
  • In order to be eligible for this position, journeyman status or equivalent in the trade or specialty designated by management as currently necessary is required. Experience or education must establish knowledge and ability to perform the technical, reading, documentation, and mathematical requirements of the job.

Physical Requirements

Physical & mental requirements     e.g. lift 40 pounds, walk across plant/warehouse, business travel (% of time), driving as part of work responsibilities, etc.
  • Required to reach with hands and arms and frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals 
  • The noise level is moderate
  • Work environment is a production/manufacturing environment
  • Inspects tests, adjusts, and repairs components of low temperature refrigeration systems.
  • Responds to mechanical shutdowns of refrigeration equipment and HVAC systems.
  • Monitors and evaluates condition of process equipment.
  • Replaces components, compressors, and motors on all HVAC and refrigeration systems
  • Installs, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs constant volume or constant pressure controls.
  • Installs, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs temperature controls.
  • Installs, tests, operates, and maintains a variety of incubators, refrigerators, pumps, cooling towers, centrifugal chillers, absorption chillers, etc.
  • Completes documentation required for planned maintenance work and line utilization logs.
  • Utilizes hand tools and instrumentation in a safe manner.
  • Maintains clean and safe job-site at all times.
  • Communicates all work-related activities to production supervisors
  • Assists other trades when possible.
  • Utilizes mechanical drawings and schematics for installation and troubleshooting.
  • Operates Company vehicles f or transportation of' equipment within the facility or on public highways.
  • Participates in safety training programs.
  • Under contract agreement (CBA) between Par Pharmaceutical and USW Local 176
  • Shift premium where eligible (Afternoons: 7%; Midnights: 10%)
  • Base Hourly Rate: $46.05 (increases to $47.20/hour effective 03/01/2023 per CBA)
