This vacancy is open to permanent classified employees of LSU Health-Shreveport, permanent classified state employees and external applicants.
Applicants must have a State Civil Service test score for series 2100 PSE (Protective Services Exam) by the close of this announcement in order to be considered for this vacancy. A newly promulgated SCS rule 22.8(e) is effective per HR Handbook update No. 2023-003. This new rule allows applicants who possess POST (Peace Officer Standards Training) to be exempt from the PSE (Protective Services Exam).

As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Police Officer 1, Police Officer 2 or Police Officer 3 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant. The maximum salary for the Police Officer 3 is $6,013/month. There is one vacancy. Qualifications
No experience or training is required.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Must have attained eighteenth birthday at time of appointment. An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted. May be required to possess a valid Louisiana driver's license at time of appointment. May be required to complete a Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) course.
