Summary&nbsp;Provides general care to patients in outpatient clinic setting by performing the following duties.&nbsp;Essential Duties and Responsibilities·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Take temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Documents past medical history of patients.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Explain and perform prescribed procedures and treatments to patients in a timely manner.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Greet patients upon encounter, verify patient identity at each encounter, explain procedures to be performed, obtain verbal consent, and address patient questions and concerns.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Administers ordered injections in accordance with approved nursing techniques.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Observe patient and notify supervisor or provider of patient’s condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Respond to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Perform all drug screening and breath alcohol testing procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Ensure patient immunizations are appropriate, well documented and administered using approved nursing techniques.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Conduct provider referrals as well as pre-certifications on an as needed basis.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Properly start lab equipment daily; run and document controls; perform maintenance and cleaning of equipment as scheduled per written protocols.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Collect specimens from the patient utilizing the approved equipment, sequence and procedure. &nbsp;·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Draw blood from patient’s finger, vein, or other approved sites while observing principles of asepsis to obtain blood samples.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Follow established procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting and maintaining records of patient results.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Report results timely and notify providers of abnormalities.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or results and follow procedures for the reporting and correction of deviations.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Document corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from established performance specifications.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Adhere to laboratory quality control procedures and document all Quality Control activities, instrument and instrument maintenance.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Rotate among various clinical services such as lab, nursing and x-ray.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Prepare rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Follow 10/15 policy routinely.&nbsp;·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Ensure the work area is neat and clean, fully stocked and all laundry items have been laundered and put away.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Manage difficult and emotional patient situations.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Maintain complete and accurate documentation.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Observe safety and security procedures; promote a safe and pleasant work environment.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Report potentially unsafe conditions to management.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Respond to all patient messages; documenting conversations in electronic medical records system, assist with any patient discharging duties and share responsibility of patient call backs.&nbsp;·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Regular attendance to ensure efficient clinic operations.·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.&nbsp;&nbsp;Education and Experience·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school&nbsp;·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.&nbsp;·&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;CMA certification preferred.&nbsp;<ul><li>Phlebotomy certification preferred.</li></ul>&nbsp;&nbsp;Physical Demands/Work Environment (optional)While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently required to walk.&nbsp; The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. &nbsp; PS: It’s All About You!&nbsp;&nbsp;American Family Care has pioneered the concept of convenient, patient-centric healthcare.
